Super Smash Bros Meele on Android

One of the best things about Android is that there are a lot of emulators for the platform. You can play games from the PS2, Nintendo DS, PSP, etc. No other mobile platform comes close to the same amount of emulation apps. With that said, one popular emulator that has been lurking around for quite some time is the Dolphin Emulator. It’s capable of emulating GameCube and Wii games.

For this tutorial, we’re going to take a look at running Super Smash Bros Meele on your Android device. Let me kill your hopes first. This isn’t ready to be a daily driver just yet. Even on my Galaxy S6 with the 64 bit interpreter enabled, the performance is still…lackluster at best. However, I am still amazed that this even boots. For the longest time, almost nothing worked on the dolphin emulator. So here’s how to play Super Smash Bros Meele on Android.

What You Will Need:

  • Dolphin Emulator
  • Super Smash Bros ISO (Google)
  • USB Controller (optional)

To do this is quite simple. Download and install the dolphin emulator apk to your device. If you are using a device with a 64 bit processor (such as the Galaxy S6) enabled the 64 bit recompiler in the settings. This should give you a slight boost in performance. Also, enable the dual clock option.

You can configure the orientation of the onscreen controls.

Alternatively, you can use a USB controller and key-map the input. However, I did encounter some issues when doing this and had to ultimately rely on the on-screen controls.

Finally, select the game and it should boot. Again, the performance is not anything that you’ll be able to brag about, however it works at the very least.
