Run Android Nougat on PC

Do you have an old computer laying around that you need to find a use for? How about running Android Nougat on your PC? The Android x86 team has successfully ported Android 7.1 over to the desktop CPU architecture. This means you can enjoy your favorite apps and games on any pc or laptop.

Run Android Nougat on PC

The first thing that you need to do is download the Android Nougat x86 ISO file. I recommend that you download the regular 32 bit ISO because I had trouble getting the 64 bit ISO to work. You will also need to use Rufus to create a bootable ISO.

Afterwards, insert the USB into the computer that you want to run Android Nougat on and boot from the USB. In the Android grub menu, select the option to run it in live mode (unless you want to install it to your hard drive). Live mode will allow you to run Android without making any changes to your hard drive. Everything will be saved in RAM.

From this point on, everything operates like normal Android. The over performance isn’t that bad. There is some stutter and lag in certain games, but nothing too unbearable. It’s worth noting that some apps and games didn’t work either. I was successfully able to get Minecraft and YouTube working, but Goat simulator crashed instantly so YMMV.
